Why Support The American Revolution Center?
The American Revolution gave birth to the United States and created our enduring form of representative government. Far from being a remote episode in the distant past, the American Revolution is the most important event in the history of the modern world, and an ongoing experiment in self government that requires the informed participation of its citizens.
Incredibly, there is still no national museum that tells the entire story of the American Revolution. The American Revolution Center is changing this by establishing The Museum of the American Revolution. Dedicated to reconnecting our fellow citizens to the most important event and the most powerful ideas in our nation's history, the Museum will showcase the Center's exceptional collection of Revolutionary-era arms, objects, art, printed works and manuscripts. It will immerse visitors in the sweeping, dramatic stories of the American Revolution with engaging, state-of-the-art exhibits that feature rare relics, dynamic graphics and films, live interpretation and interactive, hands-on activities.
With rising generations increasingly disconnected to our founding history, America needs a museum dedicated to the people, events and ideas that have inspired our greatest achievements as a nation, sustained us through our darkest moments, and challenged us to keep the spirit of the American Revolution alive. The convergence of need and opportunity make this the time to build The Museum of the American Revolution.
