Dr. Cole addressed the Capitol Hill Executive Service Club (CHESC), a distinguished organization that meets to discuss a variety of topics related to American government, leadership, history, and service. Members of the Society of the Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge toured ARC’s collection in Phoenixville. This patriotic organization was founded in 1976 to identify and preserve the memory of ancestors who served at Valley Forge during the encampment of 1777-78.

The president of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution Jim Willis, presented Dr. Cole with a Certificate of Appreciation from the National Society of the Sons of the Revolution for his achievements in serving the country and promoting the study and understanding of American history and culture.

The American Revolution Center’s chairman, H.F. “Gerry” Lenfest, and the Honorable Edward G. Rendell, governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, hosted a reception to welcome The Center’s new president and CEO, Dr. Bruce Cole, at the National Constitution Center.

The reception featured the singing of the national anthem by Lauren Hart and a presentation of the colors by the Valley Forge Military Academy.
