Historic Sewing 101: Make a Haversack
Learn “plain sewing” to create a Revolutionary soldier’s linen haversack, similar to a modern lunch bag. From 12PM-3PM, Museum staff will discuss the history of haversacks and offer instruction on basic hand-sewing, inspired by textiles on display in the core exhibition. Use historical tools and techniques to complete a haversack to take home. Beginner workshop (no sewing experience required).
Space is limited, register in advance. $80 fee, $60 members. Includes Museum admission and all materials.
